League Central America
League Central America ( LCA) is League's manufacturing facility established in 2009. When one of our vendors quickly ceased operations in Guatemala, we saw it as an opportunity to establish our own manufacturing operation. Having our own plant was something we had thought about for years, so when the opportunity presented itself, we went to work!
League Central America is located in Ciudad Arce, El Salvador. The city lies outside of San Salvador and has about 10,000 residents who live there. When we decided to open a factory, our goal was to provide not only a legal, but a safe and ethical factory that would improve the lives of the people living in the region. Treating workers with justice and dignity is a priority for us.
We are proud to say that League Central America has been operating for over two years now, and some of the highlights include:
- State of the art cafeteria which feeds over 200 people breakfast and lunch daily
- Wages above the legal requirement for this region
- Centro De Desarrolla Infantil League - Brand new daycare for our employees so mothers do not have to leave children at home when they work
- Savings & Loan program
- Clean Water bottling program
- Hiring spouses and family members to increase overall household income
- Social Services to aid employees and those in the community with disabilities
We here at League have proven that manufacturing quality collegiate apparel does not have to be done in sweatshops. But even more than that, it can be done with a higher good in mind, improving the lives for hundreds of people in El Salvador.
League has been a member of the Fair Labor Association since 1998. We have adopted - and required ALL vendors who supply products to our stores to adopt the FLA's Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct requires strict adherence to workers rights. While we do adopt the FLA Code of Conduct at our company owned factory, we went above and beyond this Code to help to improve the lives of our employees , their families, and the community.
